While working at the RI Home Show last week, I had the opportunity to walk around and view the other exhibits of my fellow vendors.  As I walked through the endless displays of kitchens, spas, and household gadgets, there was one booth nestled in the back towards the food court that offered the best type of home improvement…ADOPTION! 

In RI, at any given time, there are approximately 1000 children in need of safety, love, and a good home in which they can flourish and grow into the successful people they were meant to be.  We all know adopting a child in the system is often challenging, but like one satisfied mom said “..all good things in life are hard to obtain.” 

Although adoption is not right for every family, some families have had a special calling placed on their heart and are ready and able to envelope a child in need.  There are also others, who understand the call to action, but may not have the means, time, or lifestyle to give an abused/neglected child all they may require.  Thankfully there is an organization that, regardless of what level of assistance you can offer, can help you get involved.

Adoption RI is an amazing organization that will assist you with everything from simply making a donation, to adopting a child (even groups of siblings).  Feel you are more an activist than a nurturer?  Adoption RI can assist you in becoming a child advocate.  Lend your time and passion to the court systems by working with social workers and attorneys to help ensure these children have a voice.
