Mission Services
The Mission provides a number of vital
human services to the poor and needy of our community on a
daily basis. They conduct chapel service followed by an
evening meal seven nights a week, provide overnight shelter
for homeless men and women, a food pantry, clothing room,
education and career center, and a one-year discipleship
program for homeless men.
All of the services of the Providence Rescue Mission are
made available to any who come. There is never a charge for
their services. They
believe by providing the services with dignity and love,
they make a direct and lasting impact on the community they.
Dental Offices
The Providence Rescue Mission features a full service dental
office that helps Individuals start a new life with a smile
they can be proud of. Their
office features x-ray, full cleaning, and other dental
services.
Meal Programs
The Mission’s meal programs provide approximately 6,500 hot
meals a month to the needy in our community.
In addition to their
daily feeding ministry, they do special events during the
holidays. This past
Thanksgiving they provided Thanksgiving food boxes for over
1,600 families in the Providence area, and at Christmas
time, they provided 11,000 gifts to over 1,600 needy
families.
Overnight Shelter
They also provide emergency overnight
shelter for 40 to 60 homeless men and 15 to 30 homeless
women, 7 nights a week. Each
overnight guest has the ability to take a hot shower, eat
dinner, sleep in a clean bed, and have breakfast in the
morning, all in a facility that is safe and inviting.
Food & Clothing
And lastly, the Mission operates an emergency food pantry
and a clothing room. Individuals
and families use these services on a daily basis. They
distribute emergency food on a weekly and as needed basis.
They also give about 5,000 articles of clothing each
month.
