Choosing the Right Cleanser
for your Skin
With so many skin care products on the market
today, it is hard to find products that are right for your skin type. But
with a little help and education, you will be able to confidently choose
the products that are right for you.
What is your skin type...
Dry Skin:
You do not want to strip away the
little oil you do have so you want to find a cleanser that is creamy with
nonsoap ingredients. This will help with the tightness that you feel after
cleansing and won't take away the natural oil you do have. Try Eucerin
Gentle Hydrating Cleanser, DDF Non-Drying Gentle Cleanser or Philosophy When
Hope is Not Enough Omega 369 Hydrating Cleansing Balm.
Oily Skin:
This skin type breaks-out easily and
has an oily shine thoughout the day. You want to find a cleanser with
salicylic acid or a combination of hydroxy acids. These ingredients help
to gently exfoliate your skin, penetrates deeper to clear your pores and control
the oil. Try Biore Fighting Ice Cleanser, Murad Clarifying Cleanser, Bliss
Clean Deep Pore Cleanser or Dr. Sebagh Breakout Foaming Cleanser.
Combination Skin:
This skin type is usually oily
in the T-Zone (forehead, nose, chin) and dry or normal on the cheek area. You do not want to use a cleanser that is too drying nor one that will create
more oil. Find a foaming cleanser, such as, Skinceuticals Simply Clean
Cleanser or Cosmedicine Healthy Cleanse Foaming Cleanser and Toner in
One.
Sensitive Skin:
The slightest ingredient can
create havoc with this skin type. Look for cleansers that are
fragrance-free and are specifically formuated for sensitive skin. Try
Murad Soothing Gel Cleanser, MD Formulations Facial Cleanser Sensitive Formula,
SkinMedica Sensitive Skin Cleanser or Sundari Gentle Gel Cleanser.
